Philips Lumea Review Round-Up

Philips SC2009

What do the Web’s Best Beauty Reviewers think of the Philips Lumea?

With so many reviewers online, it can be difficult to know who to believe. After all, we’re all different and we all have different tastes!

But having access to all these beauty experts’ opinions is actually a massive advantage.

Why?

Because it makes it really quick to see the best and worst points of any product.

That’s why we’ve done a Round-Up of opinions on the Philips Lumea IPL systems from some of the internet’s most respected beauty bloggers!

Becca Haf Blogs

Tip: Becca has been using the Philips Lumea systems for over three years

It’s still one of the best investments I’ve ever made.

Becca has been a faithful user of the Philips Lumea systems for over three years now and uses it for more precision areas like upper lip, armpits and bikini line. She doesn’t use it on her legs although she has tried. She reckons it works better on the coarser hair on her body such as armpit hair.

  • Loves it for: Effective, long-lasting and way cheaper than salon with same results. Best beauty buy in two years.
  • Dislikes it for: Legs can take a while to treat.

Philips Lumea being used on the face

Wish Wish Wish

I couldn’t recommend the Lumea enough if you’re the right candidate for it.

Carrie from the great beauty blog Wish Wish Wish is a huge fan of the Philips Lumea. While she found it a bit of a struggle to remember to do all the treatments, it worked excellently for her and hair grew back dramatically less even when she hadn’t treated it for months.

  • Loves it for: Very effective, especially on bikini area.
  • Dislikes it for: Can be time consuming on larger areas.

GlamourTricks

I cannot express how happy I was with the Lumea results.

Sara from GlamourTricks did an extensive test on her Philips Lumea, using it for 3 months until hair was entirely gone and then stopping use, to see how long it would take before it grew back. She reported that it was almost three months before hair returned to its normal growth level!

  • Loves it for: Very effective and long-lasting results.
  • Dislikes it for: Not a permanent hair removal tool.

Katie Snooks

I love the fact that I can do this in the comfort of my own home (bed) and without the big cost of laser treatment.

Katie was another blogger who did a lengthy trial of the Philips Lumea and found it to be very effective. After a month of treatments she found that hair had reduced by a large amount although the bikini area took longer to show results.

  • Loves it for: Long-lasting smoothness, can do it in the comfort of your own home.
  • Dislikes it for: Can be painful on sensitive areas on high settings.

Using the Philips Lumea IPL system under legs

Coffee Work Sleep Repeat

The novelty of not having to worry about my legs or finding the time to shave…still hasn’t worn off.

Morganna, as a mother of two, really values her time and could never find the time to shave her legs. She did a pretty extensive trial of the Philips Lumea and found that it worked wonders for her. She does treatments while she watches TV when the kids are asleep, so doesn’t find it cuts into her day and it actually performed better than her expectations.

  • Loves it for: Long-lasting results, can be done in front of the television and you never need to worry about hairy legs!
  • Dislikes it for: Nothing!

Fleur de Force

If you are after a pain free hair removal product that shows results after consistent use, this is the one for you, I really cannot recommend it highly enough.

Fleur de Force enlisted her friend to trial out the Philips Lumea as she’d always wanted smooth legs, faff-free. Sceptical at first, Lissie could see the results starting after just one use and excellent results after 4 uses.

  • Loves it for: Quick and effective, long lasting.
  • Dislikes it for: Nothing!

Philips Lumea IPL on the bathroom counter

The LDN Diaries

Paula made a YouTube video review of the Philips IPL in which she also explains how it works. She also gives a demonstration of the device in use. She tried other IPL machines but settled on the Lumea as her favourite.

  • Loves it for: Cordless and effective
  • Dislikes it for: Not the permanent hair removal method it’s often advertised as.

The SC2005 is great with just a couple of compromises. This has a body attachment but it lacks a bikini and face attachment. If you can overlook this then you can get yourself a bargain.
