Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X Review

Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X

Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X Review Summary

Considering laser hair removal is supposed to be a lot more effective than IPL, it’s not that easy to see why it’s better when it comes to this Tria home use laser device. You still need at least 8 fortnightly treatments and then possibly more afterwards if regrowth continues.

Also, it doesn’t come with a facial or bikini attachment and instead you need to buy an entirely separate machine, the Tria Precision (which looks ever so slightly like a sex toy, don’t want any confusion there). The cost of these two combined is more than a great Philips Lumea Prestige IPL system but not by much.

This is great for those who want permanent hair removal at the end of the day. It may take a few months, but eventually there will be no more hair, can you even imagine? This looks amazing, possibly the best hair removal design ever and it does work well. Tria have a huge amount of clinical experience and seem like a trustworthy company. If you’re keen on laser treatment but don’t want to spend thoooouusands in a clinic, then this is your next best option.

In-Depth Review

It was only a matter of time before laser hair removal came to the home appliance market but there’s really only one company out there doing it and that’s Tria. Tria is an American company who actually came onto the scene back in 2003 when they created a laser hair system for clinics. While they still make machines for clinical use, they’ve now branched out into the domestic appliance industry.

What does the Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X come with?

Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X comes with:

  • 1x Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X

Probably the best-looking hair removal device...

This is new territory in a huge industry and firstly, the Tria laser is probably the best-looking hair removal device on the market at all. Instead of creating the technology and ignoring the aesthetics before throwing it out there, Tria have really concentrated on making this laser device look awesome.

Easy to use LED display...

The LED display on top is very easy to read and understand with a battery level indicator, a light lock feature, a pulse counter, a treatment intensity level and a skin sensor indicator. You’d think the tiny screen would be crowded but it’s not at all.

Next to the screen is the power button with is well designed and doesn’t get in the way. The rest of the device is smooth and curved like a retro microphone, in fact, that’s kind of what it looks like overall. With a hidden charging socket and a comfortable grip handle, every aspect of this has been well thought out.

Nifty skin sensor ensures you never use the wrong settings...

An inbuilt skin sensor ensures that you never use this device on the wrong settings for you and the lock button prevents accidental use. You unlock the device by using the sensor so you can never accidentally start it on the wrong setting. Nifty or what?

The Tria 4X battery life isn't the greatest though...

The battery life on the Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X is very low compared to IPL devices and it only lasts for 30 minutes. Although you don’t have to use it very often, this means that you’re liable to forget to charge it and find it always flat. Tria state that the battery life is enough to treat a single area, i.e. a lower leg. This is pretty annoying in my book because that means you can only do one leg per charge. And not even a full leg!

How do I use the Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X?

Using the Tria 4X is quite similar to IPL devices in many ways. You must shave the area first to get a more effective treatment, then you need to select your intensity level before you put the window to your skin and press the button. You need to use the Tria every two weeks for at least 8 treatments, which is actually a lot considering laser is supposed to be more effective than IPL!

How effective is the Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X?

The Tria emits much more energy than any IPL system and is very targeted, although still cannot be used on very dark skin. Each treatment is quite effective and after 8 treatments you will be seeing a huge decline in regrowth.

The problem with the cool-looking Tria Laser 4X is that it doesn’t have different body area attachments and instead requires you to buy the Precision version if you want to use a laser hair removal device on your face or bikini area. This basically doubles the cost and requires you to own two devices instead of one.

That said, after the treatments required for you personally, you should find that your hair is permanently gone. Any slight regrowth over time can be dealt with as it arises and after a while, you simply won’t need to use this anymore.

The final word on the Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X...

At the end of the day, this is great for those that are looking for permanent hair removal. It may take a few months to achieve, but eventually you will have no more hair. This is the next best option if you don't want to spend loads of money at a clinic.
